2005 Riesling
contact:
* Bronze Medal Tasmanian Wine Show 2006
* Picked mid-late March 2005; we believe a record for Tasmanian Riesling.
* 12.4% Be (Alcohol Level)
* Non irrigated
* Low yields - 2 tonnes per acre
* 50% McWilliams Clone, 50% 0011
* Wine maker: Guy Wagner, Bass Fine Wines
* Wine making: Fermentation used a German yeast strain we believe not common in Tasmania.
* Descriptors: Nose - Perfumed, aromatic spicy vanillin. Palate - Crisp, dry (no residual sugar), pleasing lemon, lime and sherbert flavours.
* Comments: Good with food now but also a Riesling to have with just your Sunday paper. Careful cellaring for ten years plus will reward!
